Inside Our Large-Scale Security Projects: Mumbai Metro, RBI Data Centers, and Covid-19 Hospital Surveillance
Most of our work is single-site installations — an office, a store, a society. But a handful of projects over the years have been large enough to genuinely change how we plan and execute security infrastructure. Three stand out: the Mumbai Metro Aqua Line 3, networking for Reserve Bank of India data centers, and surveillance infrastructure for hospitals during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation — Aqua Line 3 (27 stations)
We're currently working with Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation on security solutions and Open Voice Command systems across the elevators of all 27 stations on the Aqua Metro Line 3. A project at this scale isn't really a "bigger version" of a single-building install — it's a different category of problem. Every station needs consistent coverage standards, centralised monitoring has to work across all 27 locations simultaneously, and the voice command integration for elevators adds an accessibility layer that a typical commercial install never has to consider. Coordinating installation timelines across that many active public transit sites, without disrupting commuter flow, required a level of project management closer to infrastructure deployment than typical CCTV work.
Reserve Bank of India — data center networking
We provided networking solutions for RBI data centers — infrastructure where security and uptime requirements are at the highest level we work with. Projects like this involve structured cabling, redundancy planning, and security protocols well beyond a typical commercial network setup, since the cost of downtime or a security gap at a data center handling financial infrastructure is incomparable to a retail store or office.
Covid-19 pandemic — surveillance for 13+ hospitals, MMRDA, MMRC and MCGM
During the Covid-19 pandemic, we deployed CCTV surveillance infrastructure across more than 13 hospitals as part of projects with MMRDA, MMRC, MAHADA and the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM) — work that was recognised with a Covid Warriors award from MCGM. These installations had constraints most projects never face: infection control protocols limiting physical access to wards, urgent timelines as facilities were being stood up to handle patient surges, and the need for remote monitoring so staff exposure could be minimised. Cameras and cabling had to go in fast, work reliably from day one, and require minimal on-site maintenance visits afterward.
What large projects teach you that small ones don't
Every one of these projects reinforced the same lesson we apply to even our smallest installs today: plan for the failure case, not just the working case. A single camera failing in an office is an inconvenience. A monitoring gap across a metro elevator network, a data center, or a hospital ward during a health emergency is a different order of consequence entirely. That discipline — redundancy, documentation, and remote diagnosability — is something we now build into every project regardless of scale, from a single shop in Andheri to a citywide metro line.
